Glen grew up in the Finger Lakes region, so the Zugibe Vineyards was the perfect location for his and Domenica’s wedding day! The Finger Lakes are known for their excellent wine and ciders. It’s also known for its incredible scenery, hiking trails, waterfalls, and of course, its lakes! This area has a very family-friendly atmosphere. It is a location that can instantly feel like home. Nestled at 4248 E Lake Rd, at the top of Seneca Lake in the city of Geneva, New York, is Zugibe Vineyards. This vineyard has 40 acres of wine grapes, and wow is it beautiful!
Domenica and Glen have a love story where you can’t help but say, it was just meant to be. They met in high school and dated very briefly. After graduation, they went their separate ways, and eventually, both ended up getting married and having three kids. It turned out that they both got divorced from their partners. Eventually, Domenica updated her relationship status on Facebook which a mutual friend of hers and Glen happened to see. Domenica was always Glen’s “one that got away.”. With that in mind, their mutual friend told Glen that she was single. Fast forward to December 2021 when they tied the knot and FINALLY married each other, with Domenica’s cousin as the officiant! At their wedding reception, they had favors on everyone’s plates. The favors were pencils that said “Stonybrook School 1982” and “Meni + Glen = Tru<34EVER.” What a sweet ode to them meeting in high school!
From the second I saw the first email from Domenica, I knew it was going to be special. She described her vision for the wedding as “very casual, low key, and anti-traditional.”. She said, “We really want to just have fun with our kids and guests and have as many candids of everybody celebrating as we can! Everyone there is VIP with our small group.”. Domenica kept the vibe of the wedding to her original vision, however, she did go all out with the reception decor! Very simple yet sophisticated. Cocktail hour took place in the tasting room which overlooks Seneca Lake. It was perfect weather on their summer wedding day, with clear views of the vineyards and lake. The whole wedding was very family oriented and there were happy tears all day long. They shared stories and then there was a whole lot of dancing during the reception. I think they only sat down for ten minutes!
I am not one to cry at weddings, but at this wedding, there was one moment that got me! The groom’s father is in his 90s and had been using a cane or wheelchair all day to get around, with assistance. During the reception, the DJ played their wedding song, and he got up, put his cane down, and spun his wife around, then held her tight. It was one of the most genuine and sweet moments I have ever witnessed and was so grateful to be there to capture it (even if I could barely see my camera through the tears). This was truly one of the most special weddings I have ever photographed. You could truly feel the love and happiness.
