Coindre Hall Wedding | Sierra Boggess + Stefano Da Fre

Seirra and Stefano’s wedding day was everything they wanted – merriment, good music, and dancing. If you recognize Sierra and Stefano’s names you probably aren’t surprised that their wedding boasted good music and dancing.

Sierra is a Broadway star well-known for her roles as Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Christine in The Phantom of The Opera. And, Stefano is a filmmaker with award-wining documentaries under his belt such as The Day I Had to Grow Up and The Girl Who Cannot Speak. Sierra and Stefano’s love for the arts is just one of the many reasons they work so well as a couple.

With that being said, it was of upmost importance to ensure their wedding was an intimate event with family and close friends. Sierra and Stefano told me, “Our whole life is a production, we don’t want our wedding to be.”

There is a time and place for a grand wedding with over-the-top design. However, it’s always important to remember at the heart of a wedding celebration two people committing to love and honor one another. This is something that I truly appreciated and loved seeing at Sierra and Stefano’s wedding day. The day was about them professing their love for one another with their families and friends surrounded in support.

They opted out of a first look, but decided to do a first touch. It was one of the most special moments I’ve witnessed. Not only did Stefano and Sierra chit-chat about the days events leading up to this moment, but they also sang to one another and together. I’ll never forget it.

For the wedding ceremony, since Sierra and Stefano come from different faiths, they wanted to incorporate both of their faiths into the ceremony. Brad Berglund was Sierra’s childhood minister and one of the most influential persons in her life so it was only fitting that he married her. To honor Stefano’s Catholic faith, they had a London-bought unity candle. They also had one of their dear friends, Norm Lewis, sing Ava Maria.

Another way that Sierra and Stefano incorporated family history, unbeknownst to Stefano at the time of planning, was Sierra found a dress that was made in Italy. She loved the dress from the moment of trying it on. It didn’t feel like a costume which was highly important to her as she has worn many wedding gowns during her productions. Then, she learned the designer, Maison Signore, was an Italian designer. This sealed the deal for her since Stefano’s parents were born in Italy.

Sierra and Stefano’s entire wedding day was just absolute perfection, and I am so honored to have been their wedding photographer.
