The Bourne Mansion is a luxury wedding venue located at, 500 Montauk Hwy #2, Oakdale, NY 11769. Situated only 90 minutes outside of New York City, it’s the perfect spot to hold a wedding! It sits on 205 acres of land with a beautiful view and a gorgeous garden. The venue offers suites that the bride and groom use to get ready. One of the highlights of the day was Carolyn’s first look at her 14-year-old dog, Caine. It was so sweet getting to capture this moment and I absolutely love the idea! Afterward, Andrew and Carolyn had their first look at the back of the mansion, and their son was there watching and recording it! I like doing the couple’s first look in the back of the mansion because the front is typically busy with decor vendors coming and going to set up for the reception, as well as family members starting to arrive for family pictures. The back of the mansion offers a large variety of options for portraits and is also a super private space.
Carolyn & Andrew planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony, decorated with white and purple flowers. It was the perfect color palette for the end of September. Instead of an arch, they had flower pillars that were stunning! The front of the ceremony looked over the field and the back was the charming architecture of the Bourne Mansion. Cocktail hour took place throughout the main floor of the mansion in several different rooms, as well as outside, allowing guests to spread out and explore the grounds. All the food was displayed in the blue room and served in the library. They also had Hor D’oeuvres being passed out during the cocktail hour.
The Bourne Mansions grand reception room features a 40-foot vaulted ceiling with detailing throughout the walls. Carolyn and Andrew had the tables beautifully decorated with florals by Something Blue Floral Events. The florals were stunning and so carefully done, it was honestly breathtaking! A black and white floor was installed in the bar area in 2021. It’s a cool feature that has become a really big hit at the mansion and the most requested photo location by my couples, and I love it! To kick off the reception, Carolyn’s dad gave a welcome toast, and then they ended the night with a dessert room, featuring a donut wall!
