Felicia and Mitch’s coastal sailboat engagement session was an absolute dream.

Previous to this day, I had never photographed on a sailboat before for an engagement shoot, so this was definitely an adventure for all of us! Felicia wanted to do something unique for the shoot, so her dad had suggested using their sailboat! When she asked me about it, I was all for it! We reviewed outfit ideas – her yellow flowy dress was a perfect pop to the blue tones of the water, sky, and Mitch’s shirt.

Her parents came along to drive the boat and work the sails while Felicia and Mitch did their engagement session. Especially for those who love the water, or if you’re someone who enjoys boating, then this is a great idea for couples photos, engagement photos, or even a special addition to a wedding day! It is important to know when high and low tide is, and time it with golden hour, like we did here!

As the sun started to go down, we docked boat and had an outfit change. They decided on something a little more casual for the second outfit. That golden hour light was pouring in during these photos! Towards the end, we had a fun champagne pop to wrap it up! Overall, I had such a wonderful time capturing Felicia and Mitch’s coastal sailboat engagement session and would do it all over again!
