This session was a dream come true for me. When Gabriella first contacted me, she said they were interested in doing their engagement photos with their horse, Dude. I grew up horseback riding so I was instantly so excited for this! They specifically wanted a photographer that was comfortable around horses and knew how to navigate a horse on top of an engagement session. When working with animals during a photoshoot, you should always work in a little extra time, as there is only so much you can control.
We did their engagement session at their barn, in Hopewell Junction, New York. Honestly, it didn’t even look like we were in New York! We walked down to an open field that overlooked a pond and mountains, just as the sun had been setting. It was a beautiful view! After taking pictures with Dude, Gabriella and Anthony also did some with their friends horses, to mix it up and give some variety to the shoot. Behind the scenes they had friends helping hold the horses when they weren’t being used in the pictures. After doing pictures with the horses, we did some of just Gabriella and Anthony. There was a beautiful bridge, surrounded by greenery that made a romantic setting. I am photographing their wedding at Brotherhood Winery in October 2023 and I could not be more excited!

KIND WORDS
“Run, don’t walk to a phone to call Siobhan. She worked with my daughter over the course of the last six months, shooting engagement, rehearsal dinner and wedding photos; all are take-your-breath-away astounding. She took the time to get to know the bride and groom and really personalized the experience. Her skill is very evident – lighting, angles, use of several cameras. And her ease with the client made for a fun, stress-free documentation of a happy life event. She is a task-master – she knew her schedule and subtly moved things along. I am a huge fan and heartily recommend Siobhan Stanton.”
