Julia and Eric wanted a Hollywood Glam wedding style and they definitely achieved their goal with their Bourne Mansion wedding reception. They were the first “non Covid” wedding to happen on both sides of the family. Because of this, they wanted to be able to celebrate not just their marriage, but the fact they were able to be surrounded by both of their large families.
The day began as most weddings do with the wedding party getting ready in their separate locations. However, one thing that was unique is an ice cream truck was driving past where Julia was getting ready so her, her mom and sister spontaneously ordered ice cream. It made for fun pictures!
Another fun photo op moment was the printed newspapers that Julia had made. Not only was it a picture perfect opportunity, but added to the Hollywood Glam vibe.
Julia and Eric also wanted to incorporate their family throughout their wedding day. They did this in several ways. First, Julia had her grandmothers pearls wrapped around her bouquet and wore her bracelet as her “something borrowed.” Second, the antique car they used for transportation was Julia’s grandfathers. Julia still recalls how driving to the church with her parents will always remain a core memory from her wedding day. Then, in their wedding programs they had an insert that shared the love stories of their parents and grandparents.
Following their wedding ceremony, Julia and Eric did a grand exit followed by a large picture with all of their guests. After, guests then made their way to Bourne Mansion where they enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour with two signature cocktails. The cocktails were named after two of Julia and Eric’s favorite places: The Montauk and The Nantucket.
For the reception, guests walked into the Bourne Mansion ballroom to see tables adorned with gold candelabras and lush floral arrangements with gold accents. Guests also saw the traditional styled wedding cake which included a cake topper that was a replica of the one Julia’s parents had on their wedding cake. This was just another way that they incorporated their family in their wedding day.
I do have to take a moment to mention just how amazing their first dance was! They took dance lessons prior their wedding so they could perfect their dance abilities. Let me just state that the lift was a perfect grand moment!
After all the reception formalities, they did an outfit change. Eric changed into a white tux and Julia changed into a white flapper dress. It was as if they walked right off an old Hollywood movie set. We stepped outside for a few night portraits, then they made their second grand entrance to the reception room via the balcony to show off their new outfits!
It was an honor to get to photograph their wedding day and a night that definitely would have broke box office records if it were an old Hollywood movie!
